Hand writing hope and love into the dark

We hand write notes of encouragement, drink coffee, and pray.

Psalms 36:6

You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.

This all started out as a change of perception. A challenge issued to some negative thinking. A call to overcome. Literally taking pain and changing it to light.  This world is tough, but that's ok. Sometimes we are made to think we are not ok, because the world around is not ok.  The best part is, you don't have to dwell in the dark places (especially the dark alleys of your mind).  Once you find peace, joy, and true freedom you wont ever be quite "right". I took the pain brought by heavy loss and turned it into making other people's days a a little brighter.  It gives me something to look forward to and gives me a wholesome option to turn to in times of agony. The golfer doesn't want it to rain lest it ruin his ability to golf. The farmer wants the rain to give growth to the crop. We all look at things totally different, as we do perceive things differently as well. Therefore an extra measure of understanding for our fellow brother and sister is in order. This is whether or not we believe or perceive things the way anyone else does. We need to start saying " I forgive" more. More hugs. Another cup of coffee. The extra day spent with family. Being kind to 2 people a day, and do it without them knowing. Mow your neighbors yard. Let the other car go first, even when you got there first. Be patient. Take a breath. Pick up that piece of trash. Give the homeless a couple of dollars. Tell someone they are doing a good job. Talk to someone you never have before. Turn your phone off for 2 hours. Don't turn on the news today. Take a friend to lunch. Forgive yourself. Give up those chains, O' sleeper. You can read exactly how this whole thing got started on the About page, and read Maggie's story.
